Safe Haven Enterprises mission statement is ‘The mission, philosophy, and vision of Safe Haven is to provide a therapeutic, home-like environment, to encourage individuals to function as independently as possible, and to make a progressive difference in every life they touch by promoting health, safety, individuals rights, and improving quality of life for individuals and families as they define it for themselves.’
Safe Haven provides housing for individuals who are unable to live independently within the community. In their home, individuals are encouraged to be as independent as possible. Care and services provided are specific to each individual’s needs. Safe Haven provides opportunities for people with developmental disabilities to live and participate in their own communities. The staff provides supervision and supportive services needed to regain or maintain their highest functioning level.
Programming and services for each individual will be provided at the level and frequency needed to provide stimulation. At Safe Haven we adopt a person-centered approach within the context of social, leisure, therapeutic, educational, community, and pastoral care. Their broad-based program offers a variety of activities that meet the changing needs of the individuals in their care, enabling them to participate to their full potential. They aim to provide quality services, where the assessed needs and expectations of the individual are met in accordance with the core principles and values of person-centeredness, inclusion, participation, independence, respect, and choice. Safe Haven is a person-centered and hone-like environment with the freedoms that should be characteristic of any home and community-based setting.
