Who Are We?
Tri-County Community Action sponsors the EnergyShare program for Halifax county and the cities of South Boston and South Hill.  The purpose of this program is to help pay heat or heat-related bills for people in need who have either exhausted or do not qualify for Federal or State assistance. The program is intended to pay for energy sources used for heat or heat-related bills.

The applicant must live within the company service area. Applicants who heat with oil, wood, kerosene, coal, propane/bottled gas, must be in danger of losing the primary source of fuel. Applicants with utility bills must have a bill cut-off notice. This requirement does not apply to adults over age 60.

The purpose of the Cooling Assistance Program is to assist low-income households with payment of their electric utility bill for electricity used to operate cooling equipment when these needs cannot be met by other resources.  Electric bills will be approved only once per household during the program period.
