Community Assisted Ride Enterprise (CARE) is a specialized public transportation alternative available for seniors and persons with disabilities in the greater Richmond region who are unable to ride on regular bus. Provides advance reservation, curb-to-curb paratransit service for qualified persons in the City of Richmond and Henrico County and portions of Chesterfield County.
CARE provides assistance to customers when boarding and exiting the vehicle. Operators will help with seat belts, securing wheelchairs, small parcels and up to 2 bags of groceries. Operators, however, cannot leave the side or back of van to carry or push customers up and down ramps, etc.
Customers are required to complete application to determine eligibility for CARE paratransit service. Call for application or visit the website.
Hours of Operation vary from location to location:
City of Richmond: Monday-Sunday 4:30am-12:30 am (Holiday Service is provided)
Henrico County: Monday-Sunday 6:00am-11:30pm (Holiday service is provided)

Comments:Specialized transportation tickets are sold in books of six and ten at $2.50 per ticket.
