Adult Education offers many opportunities for adults to enhance their knowledge in academic, vocational and a vocational areas. Adults Basic Education classes are for individuals who do not have a high school diploma or GED. Individuals can improve their reading, math and writing skills. Day or evening classes meet twice a week at locations throughout the county. Cost is $25 per session plus the cost of books.
If you are a resident of Henrico County and at least 60 years of age, you may enroll in our Golden Age Program. Enrollment is as simple as calling or visiting the nearest school. School secretaries will take the needed information and make sure it reaches the proper office. A Golden Age Resident Card and program information will be on its way in ten days to two weeks. As one of the Golden Age Card benefits, you may take any course offered for adults by the Technical & Continuing Education Department of Henrico County Public Schools without paying tuition - provided there is a sufficient number of tuition-paying students enrolled to conduct the course. Cost of textbooks, materials and supplies must be paid. The cost of these items may not be waived. A REGISTRATION FORM MUST BE COMPLETED and mailed or brought to the address shown on the forms.
