District 19 Community Services Board's Children's Clinical and Prevention Services staff are available to work with community and school based service providers in each locality within the service area. Professional assistance is available for program research, planning, development, implementation and evaluation.
A prevention specialist offers consultation and technical assistance with coalition building and participation; community development through risk, needs and resource assessments. Direct services include:
- Educational life skills training for small groups of youth and parents via use of evidence based prevention models.
- Specialized community programs including: public speaking and health fairs.
- Assistance with development and implementation of community and school based prevention activities, services and programs.
- Free, one-time, confidential consultation with parents experiencing child rearing issues.
