Community Assistance, Medical

Southern Virginia Mental Health Institute, part of the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services, provides medical care, psychiatric treatment, supportive services and counseling for individuals with mental illness, 18 years of age up to 65 years of age.



For information about financial assistance regarding treatment provided by Southern Virginia Mental Health Institute, please contact the Reimbursement Office.  Staff can explain coverage more fully and work with patients and other legally responsible parties to establish benefits and determine the ability to pay.  You may also contact your local Community Services Board (CSB) or visit their website.
