Who We Are

HumanKind (formerly Presbyterian Homes & Family Services) offers a home in Fredericksburg for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.  Group homes provide congregate living arrangements to a small group of adults with recognized developmental disabilities.  Consumers receive primary care, which is comprised of a room, board, and general supervision. In addition, they receive assistance training, and specialized supervision according to their individual support needs and preferences. Each resident is encouraged to be as independent as possible.



All residents have a private bedroom and share a bathroom with one other resident. Residents either work or attend a day program and many participate in Special Olympics teams.  All have active social lives.

Residential Care--With group homes across Virginia, more than 70 adults with intellectual disabilities are leading productive and meaningful lives in our care. We also provide safe and loving foster homes for children with identified emotional or behavioral challenges.
