Who We Are

Alleghany County administers the Emergency Home Repair Program (EHR) through The Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD). The program assists low- to moderate-income families with emergency repairs and accessibility improvements such as plumbing repairs, structural repairs, electrical repairs where hazards exist, roof repair/replacement, and heating system repair/replacement. The program provides funds to remove imminent health and safety hazards, and/or barriers to habitability in their homes.
