Who We Are

Cardinal Care Medicaid is a federally funded medical care program for individuals living in Virginia who are elderly, blind, disabled, dependent children, and pregnant women. The program offers medical coverage for doctor visits, emergency room visits, hospitalization, prescriptions, medical supplies and equipment, nursing home costs, and home health care. The level and scope of coverage vary.

To be eligible, individuals must meet income and resource requirements. Supplemental Security Income recipients are generally eligible for full coverage. CommonHelp is the Virginia Department of Social Services' fast and easy way to screen and apply for many benefit programs, including Medicaid applications.  Visit the CommonHelp site.
