Subsidized Housing, Individuals with Disabilities

Twin Canal Village provides a subsidized apartment complex, privately owned, serving handicapped persons and their companion and any family who meets the eligibility requirements.



Eligibility: Senior citizens requiring separate bedrooms may also be served. Companion accepted if needed or two elderly individuals on social security accepted. Couples without children must have a physical disability requiring separate sleeping quarters.



Fee: There is a maximum income factor and the family composition is considered in the income limits.



First come, first served basis, provided their credit rating is good and past rental history is satisfactory. Waiting time is at least 6 months to a year, with wait for larger apartments being a 1 to 2 year time span. Marriage verification is required.



A play area and a swimming pool are on premises for tenant enjoyment. The apartment complex receives subvention of housing costs through the federal government - subsidy program Section 8.
