Who We Are

Waynesboro Redevelopment and Housing Authority (WRHA) manages the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program for the City of Waynesboro.  The Housing Choice Voucher program is the federal government's major program for assisting very low-income families, the elderly, and the disabled to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private market. Since housing assistance is provided on behalf of the family or individual, participants are able to find their own housing, including single-family homes, townhouses, and apartments.

Housing choice vouchers are administered locally by WRHA.  The tenant pays the landlord a percentage of their monthly income towards the rent, with the voucher subsidizing the remainder.

All waiting list openings are announced through advertisements in local newspapers. The announcement will advise the public of the date and time the waiting list will be accepting applications as well as the website to use to apply for placement on the waiting list.
