Who We Are

The Richmond VA Medical Center can provide medical transportation to veterans, whether or not the appointment is from a service-related issue.  Transportation and travel arrangements can be made for veterans to get to the Richmond VA Medical Center. For veterans who can walk, call DAV Transportation at  804-675-5000, extension 5313. Transportation can be arranged from various cities to the Medical Center.

For veterans who are in a wheelchair or need an ambulance to transport them, medical and administrative approval is required. The primary care physician must specify that ambulance or wheelchair transport is necessary. Call 804-675-5803 or 675-5000, ext 4680 for more information.

Intake Process
For initial transportation, a medical justification must be received. After that is received, the veteran may call to request a ride. There are limitations for transportation, depending upon whether the veteran had service-related issues Please call for more details.
