Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP)

Henrico Area Mental Health and Developmental Services (HAMHDS) offers the Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP).  Staff will screen potential recipients from established waiting lists when vouchers are available. Staff will assist with initial and annual verifications, maintain required documentation, and monitor their housing status through annual site inspections and renewals.

The Housing Choice Vouchers are open to all adult consumers of the HAMHDS. All applicants must live in Henrico, Charles City or New Kent Counties and have some documented disability. In addition, the Virginia Housing Development Authoriity (VHDA) may require additional populations served based on what is going on at a state or federal level, for example, serving victims of a hurricane over those on the current waiting list. All individuals meeting the criteria for the voucher program must make application to and be accepted on the Henrico waiting list to be eligible for a voucher.
