Charlottesville Department of Social Services offers Auxiliary Grants. An Auxiliary Grant (AG) is an income supplement for individuals who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and certain other aged, blind, or disabled individuals who reside in a licensed assisted living facility (ALF), an approved adult foster care (AFC) home, or an approved supportive housing setting. Not all ALFs accept AG payments.
Benefit applications are taken daily from 8 am to 5 pm. Intake interviews are by appointment only. Please contact us at 434-970-3400 to schedule an appointment. If needed, appointments can be scheduled outside of our regular hours of operation upon request.
