Who We Are

Assistive Technology (AT) is one of the most pressing needs of the people with ALS we serve. From speech generating to environmental control devices, Assistive Technology is opening new doors for people with ALS to live fuller and more independent lives.

Most people with ALS will experience difficulty with speech and movement during the course of their illness. So, when 75% of people with ALS lose the ability to speak, Assistive Technology gives them their voice back. That means the ability to communicate with caregivers, physicians and most importantly loved ones. The simple act of saying “I love you” is made possible again, through Assistive Technology.

Some specific services include:

  • Labs for education and training
  • Loan Closet (loaner equipment for those without means for funding)
  • Co-pay Grants
  • Transportation Grants
